The Globe Works of Howard and Bullough grew from humble beginnings into a gigantic operation in the early twentieth century. Started in 1853 by Mr Howard and Mr Bleakley the works manufactured machinery and parts for supply to the Lancashire textile industry and beyond to many exotic far flung parts of the world. The Globe Works sadly closed its doors for business in 1993 –140 years after they were first opened. In 1995 the remaining buildings were totally transformed by a joint venture between Stuart Nevison, Hyndburn Borough Council and Barnfield Construction. Giving the town what is today a very impressive, modern business hub with office, conferencing and dining facilities as well as a place to expand your network.
